| NEWS FROM THE PRINCIPAL |

 Panther Parents,
Well, I seems that we have come to the end of our Evans special events for the year. Yesterday, we had a wonderful time at the Beach Bash for the 8th grade students. I will have you know that your children were the best behaved group of 8th graders yet. They left minimal trash behind and we only collected a few articles of clothing and a few towels that were left behind. Please note that the clothing and towels are wet, therefore we will only hold on to them for a short period of time.
Today we finished with the locker clean out. Students should only have textbooks in their lockers from here on. Monday and Tuesday, the lost and found will be on the stage during lunch; after Tuesday, we will be donating any leftover clothing to a local organization.
This last week of school, students will be taking final exams. Please help them finish strong on this last test. This is also the time where behavior can get a little "frazzled". Please talk with your child about their behavior at school.
On the last day of school students will not be allowed to bring back packs, large purses etc. All they will need to bring is their pencil and any items that might still need to be turned in.
Often times, parents want to bring lunch in for their child during the last week of school. This is just fine, but please remember that you can only bring food for your child. Check the exam schedule for the altered lunchtimes.
If your child has a lost textbook or library book, please make arrangements to pay for it as soon as possible. The media specialists have been communicating with the students about lost books and we will be mailing home a report with their report card. School office hours for the month of June will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. We will close for lunch at 11:30 a.m.
We have had a great year with a great group of children and it has been our pleasure to work with them this year. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer.

End of Year Meds in Clinic:
The end of the school year is fast approaching. Please remember to pick up your child's medication by the end of the day on June 4th (the last day of school). Since we are unable to store any medications at school during the summer, we will dispose of any medication left after the last day of school.
MISD has a policy against sending any medication home with a student; therefore, a parent or guardian must come in to pick up any medications. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns
ATHLETIC PHYSICALS:
MISD is offering Athletic Physicals on May 30, 2009 at McKinney Boyd High School for $20 (cash only).
CHECK IN TIME FOR THE GIRLS: Begins at 7:00am and stops promptly at 9:30am. No physicals will be given to anyone arriving late.
CHICK IN TIME FOR BOYS: Begins at 9:30am and ends promptly at 11:30am. NO physicals will be given to anyone arriving late.
Important note: ANY physical for the 2009-2010 school year needs to be completed after April 1, 2009.
GOT SHOTS??
Summer Care Van dates at Faubion Middle School are Tuesday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 17 from 5 to 8pm.
***Bring shot records and a parent/guardian must be present. No appointments needed.

| LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER |

I want to extend a big thank you to all the parents, friends, students, and teachers who have made this year so wonderful in our library. The first annual Library Technology Fair was so impressive. Our students do such fine work in video and web technologies. The book trailers were very creative and we will use them next year to help promote the Lone Star Reading List to our students. PTV is an awesome student produced video, and as we watched the year's best products, we were thoroughly entertained and amazed. We will definitely do it again next year, and my goal is to find other ways to share our students' technology work with you!
Another thank you for helping make our spring book fair a success. All proceeds go right back into our library, and help us buy books, technology, and tools to keep the library current and relevant to their lives. We appreciate your support!

| VERIFICATION OF ENROLLMENT FOR DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSES |

If your child will be taking driver education classes this summer, please make sure that they stop by the registrar's office to pick up a Verification of Enrollment form that is required by the state. June 5th is the last day the registrar will be available to fill out the form for you.

| SUMMER SCHOOL ON-LINE COURSES |

Summer School Opportunities are available for our rising 9th grade students. Courses for advancement that are being offered are Art, BCIS, Communications Applications and Foundations of Personal Fitness (PE). Health is also an option for an online course. Applications have been mailed home or your child can get one from their counselors office or on McKinney ISD's website.

McKinney ISD Summer Mini Camps are back, June 22nd-August 2nd! Make plans now to enroll and join us for a week filled with hands-on fun and summer surprises! Parents can choose from a wide variety of week long mini-camps designed for children ages 4 years through 8th grade. Enrollment for Mini Camps will begin on March 9th.
